A GHOSTWRITER & EDITOR YOU CAN TRUST

Looking for a Ghostwriter?

One of my speechwriting clients pulled me aside after he'd recorded a trailer for the speech we'd worked on together to tell me that something unexpected had happened to the audience while he was on stage:

"I made them cry three times! Three takes--they cried each time!"

Of course they did. He had a powerful story about standing at the school bus stop with his sister--the only Black kids in town--while people threw things at them from passing cars. A good day was when they missed.

I'd sent him to the stage with effective storytelling: word choice, tone, story arc, and emotional resonance that didn't pander. He brought the experience and the performance. No wonder they cried. I cried every time I edited it.

I've helped hundreds of people tell their stories.

While most ghostwriters work with a small handful of clients each year, I honed my storytelling craft as a writing coach, editor, and ghostwriter for a wide range of speakers and authors at Heroic Public Speaking and TEDxCambridge.

I've worked with people from all sorts of backgrounds, different personalities, and various industries. I've had clients in time zones thirteen hours ahead of mine (or is it behind?), and I've worked with a number of fighter pilots, an Olympic swimmer, a UN whistleblower, Ivy League professors, several CEOs, psychologists, futurists, cardiologists--a lot of "ists."

I've taken what I've learned and formulated a system for working with my book ghostwriting and developmental editing clients. I added in my training in listening as a Certified Focusing Professional to provide psychological safety in interviews, created a content structuring spreadsheet inspired by "Save the Cat," and developed a few exercises that help my clients answer these three questions: Why this? Why you? Why now?

I write book proposals and full manuscripts--and I write fast.

Long before I became a ghostwriter, I wrote and published my own parenting books (Sourcebooks and HCI), and I recently self-published a health series called THE JUST DIAGNOSED GUIDES. So, I know how my clients feel when they unbox their freshly printed books.

My strongest genres and greatest interests include:

  • Health and Healthcare
  • Personal growth/Self-help
  • Business
  • Memoir and Memoir-plus

I'll take good care of your author, and I'll write a book that readers (and reviewers, distributors, influencers, media types, and you) love. Sometimes, I'll even make them cry -- though, as we say in New Jersey, not in a bad way.
